Getting a Nudge from Mom

Baby bison calves are up and walking within 45 minutes after birth in order to keep up with the rest of the herd.

As a result, they tend to be a little stubborn and rebellious as they stretch and flex their legs, hence their nickname “Little Red Dog.”

Here’s a baby bison that was giving its mom a hard time, but mom finally got her Little Red Dog moving with the rest of the herd.
